Make sure natural preservatives are in your cosmetics!

ZaHira Organic Tea Body Lotion contains All Natural Preservatives.

Are your cosmetics preserved with chemical or natural preservatives?  Preservatives are substances that kill bacteria and fungi (or at the very minimum make it very difficult for "living things" to survive), and have no effect on the shelf life of the oils. Bacteria, fungi, yeast and other potentially dangerous microorganisms typically avoid waterless compounds (such as Calypso's Oils, Body Perfumes and Squalanes) and also substances with a relatively high pH (such as soap), but thrive in humid environments. For this reason, soaps and oil-based skin care applications do not need preservatives - but unlike these, creams, lotions and any other compound where water is present require adding a preservative if the shelf life and integrity of the product needs to be extended further than 2 or 3 weeks.

The SKYlign manufactured brand ZaHira uses a unique and innovative organic & natural  preservative system.  This organic & natural preservative system is broad spectrum and stable, however the products do require special handling and packaging. Air and light can react with these products. That's why you will find ZaHira products in tubes, airless pumps, bottles with pumps that are opaque or darkly colored.

The products also have a unique odor that comes from the preservative system, which can be masked with essential oils. All of the products are designed to be stable with only the addition of essential oils or fragrance oils. Color variation can be expected for this product line. The extract can cause color variations from batch to batch. We are doing everything we can to control variations as much as possible, however this is a completely natural product and natural variation cannot be controlled.

All products should be stored in a cool dark place with stable and consistent temperature. Typical room temperature is 68-77 degree F (20-25 degrees C) which is the perfect storage temperature for cosmetics. When cosmetics of any kind are stored at higher temperatures the preservative system is significantly deteriorated. A good rule of thumb: one week stored at temperatures higher than 85 degrees F will spend three months of most products shelf life.
